Welcome to the Care Packages for K9s Website!

We are Girl Scout Troop 60667, based in Macon, Georgia, USA and we are excited that you have come to visit our site!

During November and December of 2009, Troop 60667 prepared and shipped "care packages" for United States Military Working Dog Teams deployed in combat zones.  A team includes both the dog and its handler.  These very special animals are trained to work as scouts, trackers, sentries, and in many other important ways to assist and protect human troops as they perform their missions.  We were delighted to be able to show our support for these brave dogs and their handlers by sending them wonderful packages overflowing with both needed items and some special treats to brighten their holidays while they are serving our country far from home.

As of January of 2010, we are able to report that we collected well over $3000.00 in donations of products and money from across the United States, and as a result, we were able to ship over 360 pounds of supplies and equipment to thirty-two military working dog teams stationed in Iraq, Afghanistan, Saudi Arabia, Kosovo, Germany, and Korea. 

It is our plan to make "Care Packages for K9s" a signature service project for our troop.  We are grateful for all the donors and other contributors who helped us, and thank you very much for helping us support the U.S. military working dogs and their handlers in this way!
